Hélène’s home is just as beautiful in person as it comes across in the pictures, with a gorgeous view over the St Lawrence River and good proximity to multiple GREAT national parks—Hautes Gorges de la Rivière Malbaie, Fjord Saguenay and Grands Jardins. You have a nice porch and a great hot tub. However, our stay was marred by a few experiences that wouldn’t have been so annoying except for the fact that other reviewers have commented on these issues before, so I had hoped they would have been addressed by now. For instance, Hélène sent us the wrong WiFi information in the check-in email from Airbnb (the right info was in the big binder when we arrived, but still). The binder also had some inaccuracies about where things were located. There is no shampoo or soap in the shower, the knives are so dull they are practically unusable and are definitely dangerous...basically a number of little things added up to become a bit annoying after a while, and made us feel like we were guinea pigs for their hosting efforts, even though I know we weren’t! A few small gestures would have gone a long way toward making us feel their hospitality, and more like the place was a good value for the price.Nonetheless, it’s a nice space and situated in a quiet and scenic neighborhood. I would still recommend it.

The place is very nice, the view is gorgeous and the pictures are accurate. I would not however recommend the place for families with young children, like ours. There were three drawbacks for me - the remote location, the lack of land - the house is essentially built on rocks and gravel, there is no grass at all, I was afraid for my kids to play outside alone- and finally, the poor responsiveness of the host. The host had given us an incorrect wifi username and password, the evening we arrived I emailed, called and texted but received no response. This was extremely inconvenient as we had work to do online as well as planning for the next few days and we had also promised our kids they could watch a Netflix movie on our iPad before bed. Finally the next morning, I emailed that we would have to find a new place if we could not get the internet to work. Five minutes later, I received the correct wifi information from the host. I also repeatedly asked about how to use the grill (we could not open it) and never received a response addressing this, as a result we could not use the grill. Still, the house would be nice for a couple or couple friends, it's lovely and there is a hot tub. The kitchen is decently stocked, but is missing things one would need for cooking a nice dinner with friends (e.g. serving platters or large bowls, pitchers for water). Next time I am in the area, I will stay in malbaie itself, or baie St. Paul or ile aux caudres.

The location of this house was perfect! Very close to the National Park and small beautiful villages. We didn't realize that there was so much to do in the area. We loved the Marine Park, seeing beluga and minke whales the day we visited there. In the future we will stay longer! Helene's place was very clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the washer and dryer! :) Thank you for being a great host!

Wow unbelievable place!!! My husband and I are still talking about how gorgeous it was. The view is amazing. Hot tub heavenly! The key is a little tricky trying to get it to turn in the door and the driving directions given say turn right into 1501 but it’s left. Other than that it was wonderful. Great host too very helpful!

Beautiful place! Quiet, private, amazing views of the St. Laurence. We loved the deck and the hot tub. So much to do and see in Charlevoix. We went to Tadoussac and saw Blue Whales!

Easy access. Clean and spacious, quiet location with treetop views of the St Lawrence. Nice common areas. The spa is a bonus.
